Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
This is my favorite cookie recipe, it’s very American in style. This makes quite a big batch. I usually save some of the batter to make fresh another day unless I am baking for a crowd. The batter will keep for a few days in the refrigerator.
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
dash of cinnamon
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips*
2 cups oatmeal
Preheat oven to 180C/350F
Mix together dry ingredients
Cream butter, sugars, eggs, milk, and vanilla with a mixer
Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth
Mix in chips and oatmeal by hand
Drop onto lined baking sheets, will spread a bit!
*If you are lucky enough to have butterscotch chips, you can mix with chocolate chips for an extra delicious cookie.
