Mind / Body Balance
In my 20s I realized that I could accomplish much more if I was fit and active. I learned this through doing regular Iyengar Yoga classes. This led me to swimming, which I had always enjoyed but never seriously trained at. I found a Master Swimming group with an excellent coach and over the next many years, I learned to swim well. I also kept up the yoga, on my own when I wasn’t able to attend classes. It’s difficult sometimes to balance the physical activity, especially while working full time and when other non-active activities get in the way, like the chores of everyday life. However, we are back again to enjoying everything more when fit active.
Recently I’ve found a good mind / body balance and I plan to keep it up. I have a short yoga routine that I do most mornings, and I get to the pool whenever I can. I love swimming and I am grateful to have a fantastic 50m pool nearby. It’s a challenge to adapt as life changes, but I am mindful that we as humans are complicated, and ultimately life is all about adapting to change.
