Bargello Quilt
I love the effect of a Bargello quilt. The technique involves sewing strips together, then cutting vertically and re-sewing together, only offset into a pattern. I’ve seen beautiful quilts with bright orange, looking like a flame, and others that have a lovely ripple effect. The main problem is that I’m not sure I’m able to do one since the sewing has to be so precise. I started with these small pieces, trying for a “snowy hill” type effect. The first is a true Bargello, which has a rather pixel looking effect, and the second is offset only half a step off.
I like how the second turned out, and I added my signature pinwheels. I’m hoping to add a snowman after I quilt it!
